Matt Carwardine-Palmer is a highly experienced and successful marketer with 23 years’ experience working mainly in the cultural sector.

Matt is currently Director of Marketing & Sales at Welsh National Opera – a senior management position with considerable responsibility and influence.

He previously spent 10 years as a marketing & communications freelancer and consultant, delivering both strategic and tactical support to a wide range of clients across the UK, including Shakespeare’s Globe, British Film Institute, Wales Millennium Centre, Theatre Royal Plymouth, UK Theatre, Orchestras Live, National Theatre of Scotland and the Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy programme. Matt has also worked as Head of Marketing at Bristol Old Vic (2004-06), Marketing Director at Wycombe Swan | HST Theatres (2000-04) and Marketing Manager at Arts Marketing Hampshire (1998-2000).

He holds a First Class Honours degree in Arts Management, is a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and was a Trustee of Audiences South West (2006-09) and Sinfonia Cymru (2014-19).
