Current role

Since 2016, Matt has been Director of Marketing and Sales at Welsh National Opera – a senior management position with collective responsibility for strategic planning and leadership for the organisation.

Freelancer | consultant

From 2006-16, Matt worked as a marketing & communications freelancer and consultant, delivering strategic and tactical support to 30 clients across the UK including Shakespeare’s GlobeBritish Film InstituteBristol Old Vic, Wales Millennium CentreTheatre Royal PlymouthUK TheatreNational Theatre of Scotland,  Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy and Orchestras Live.

Previous roles

Matt previously worked as Head of Marketing at Bristol Old Vic (2004-06), Marketing Director at Wycombe Swan | HST Theatres (2000-04) and Marketing Manager at Arts Marketing Hampshire (1998-2000).


Education

Matt graduated in 1997 with a First Class Honours degree in Arts Management. He achieved the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing in 2006 and has been a Chartered Marketer with the CIM since 2012.
