Matt Carwardine-Palmer is a marketing and business consultant with more than 25 years’ experience working in the arts, heritage, and cultural sectors. 

Matt works on complex business planning and writing business cases, often in line with HM Treasury ‘Better Business Cases’ / Green Book frameworks. He also writes marketing & communications strategies, undertakes marketing audits for organisations and project-manages marketing projects. 


About

Matt holds a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Arts Management and has achieved Better Business Cases Practitioner accreditation with APMG International. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (Chartered Marketer) and is a member of the CIM Wales Committee.

Recent work

With The Funding Centre, Matt has recently been writing business cases for Cyngor Gwynedd and for the redevelopment of the National Slate Museum, Llanberis on behalf of Amgueddfa Cymru. He has written the business plan and marketing strategy for Plas Gunter Mansion, Abergavenny and is working on the business plan for Llwyd Mansion, Oswestry.

Work history

From 2016-21, Matt was Director of Marketing & Sales at Welsh National Opera (WNO). Prior to joining WNO, he spent 10 years as a marketing & communications freelancer and consultant. This followed roles as Head of Marketing at Bristol Old Vic, Marketing Director at Wycombe Swan and Marketing Manager at Arts Marketing Hampshire.
